Karachi: Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan has said that there is a possibility of terror strikes during the month of Muharram therefore all measures will be taken to avert any untoward incident.
Talking to media after chairing a meeting held to review arrangements for Muharram, Wassan said that the government has finalised all arrangements to ensure foolproof security during the month.
He said that 15 places in the Karachi city have been declared sensitive while Sukkur, Khairpur and Rohri cities are also included on the list of sensitive areas during the month of Muharram.
“Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) will also assist police during the month,” Wassan said.
The home minister said that he has directed the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation to avoid loadshadding at night during the month.
