Gujranwala: The first dangal between the traditional rivals Pakistan and India will be played today at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala.
According to schedule, the first “dangal” will be held in Gujranwala on Nov 19, instead of at Faisalabad on Nov 16. The second dangal will be held in Lahore on Nov 21 and third in Faisalabad on Nov 24.
Commissioner Gujranwala Saeed Wahla said the preparations connecting issues including security for the dangal have been done.
At Gujranwala Pakistan’s promising international grappler Umar will face off with Indian Punjab Jagroop Singh.
In the second bout Jani will take on Satindar Singh. “In Lahore, Hamid Khan will take on Jagroop and Shahid Khoeywala will test the skills of Shah Mohammad”, Chief organizer of the Indo-Pak Punjab Dangals, Khawar Shah said.
Accha Boriwala will clash with Jagroop Singh at Faisalabad while Maloo will meet take on the of Shah Mohammad.
“We look forward to exciting dangals at three venues and we hope with the tour of Indian grapplers the relations between the two countries will further improve”, he added.
“This event will help in the revival of traditional sport of dangal which is a part of heritage of sub-continent”, said the chief organiser of the dangal.
