Islamabad: Pakistan’s Commerce Secretary Zafar Mehmood will leave for India on Saturday for talks with Indian authorities being held in New Delhi on November 14.
Sources said that Mehmood would lead 11-member delegation. They said that the Secretary would discuss tariff and non-tariff hurdles being faced by the Pakistan traders. The sources added that Pakistan could formally announce trade with India and there was likelihood of a big breakthrough.
Secretary level trade talks between Pakistan and India comes days after Islamabad granted most favoured trading nation status to India.
Recently, Pakistan’s cabinet agreed to enhance trade with India up to Rs.6 billion.
