Big names in cattle farming having reputation of rearing heavy-weight sacrificial animals are aggressively running their advertisement campaigns through SMS, Facebook, Twitter, websites and video sites.
These marketing campaigns not only help them attract buyers from their ownĀ city and province, but also overseas customers, who depend on their friends and relatives to sacrifice animals.
They are getting more popularity with the display of their animals on the websites. Some of the brands are Lasania, United, Shah, Dilpasand. The website contains features of sacrificial animals including, race, weight, voice, age and number of tooth through photo galleries and videos.
The videos are designed specially to exhibit the feature of cow, its walk and lavish style of living and feeding as if documentary of the film stars or catwalk show of models. These videos are available on Youtube also, where a person can observe the lifestyle of Hoor, Lal, Badshah, King of Asia, Red Bull and Dabang. These are all animals not persons.
The cattle farmers have invested quite heavily on the making of videos and websites of sacrificial animals to assist customers to make their own choice easily.
Dilpasand farm house, one of the famous brands in the cattle market, enjoyed its popularity of the animals uniquely through Facebook having created a page of fans, which have been subscribed by nearly 1,300 fans. This page is best way to advertise the sacrificial animals to the customers through uploaded photos, videos and related descriptions.
The customers could choose animals without spending hours and long exercise of searching animals in different cattle markets and mandi though the prices of cattle are quite high comparatively with local farmers.
The farmers rear animals at their farms throughout the year, claiming to be clean and hygienic environment. Ā Therefore, animals are claimed to be special and expensive.
The online trade and marketing of sacrificial animals was started off in Pakistan in 2005, when the farmers display their animals with price tag. This trend has increased rapidly because of quick facilitation in hassle-free environment amid service of animal transportations to buyers.
Gradually, the number of farm houses has developed their websites and online trading to target overseas customers in particular and in local customers in general. The competition has been emerged as the services have been relaxed on rates and methods.

These services normally offer breeds of goats to cater to the different requirements of the people of the city with special attention on race such as Andoo and Khasi bakras.
Some farmer sell animals on fixed rates while some trade on weight basis, keeping the in view the demand and prevailing cattle prices in the city.
The service providers also made other arrangements as well. They have started up a slaughter house as they say another crucial aim is to provide meat dressing services as well. This facilitates those people who could not get butchers on first and second day of Eid
There are also some services like tohfay.com, also offers collective sacrifice to the customers with the amount of āhissaā.Ā Another service, Qurbani.com.pk, offers bakra for other occasions and purpose like Haqiqa and Sadqa.
The online system made it easier to the people who want to donate the meat of sacrificial animal to some charity organisation. They have to name their preference and the company does the rest. It even delivers the receipt of charity organisation to the buyer.
The donation of hides is the most controversial issue in the country particularly in cosmopolitan Karachi where the religious seminaries, hospitals, NGOs, political parties squabble amongst themselves for their collection. The innovative marketing and trading tactics are evident how people are modernizing their indigenous business in the country.
