Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday took up a petition filed by Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani for recovery of looted money stashed in foreign banks by the politicians.
A two member bench of the apex court was hearing the case. During the hearing the CJ asked the Pakistan Muslim-Quaid (PML-Q) Senator that names of certain politicians who shifted their money to foreign countries through illegal means should be given in his petition as money is also shifted to the foreign countries in business transactions.
He said that name of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon should also be withdrawn from the petition.
“If the courts summons Mian Nawaz Sharif or Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, to what extent they could assist the court,” the CJ remarked.
