Islamabad: Implementation of federal government decision on dissolution of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) has been started.
Implementation process will be completed in three phases. In first phase, 12 units are being shifted to National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC). These units include finance, coordination, monitoring, project management, thermal power, high voltage transmission, corporate sector, energy management and conservation and others.
 In the second phase PEPCO staff would be repatriated to their respective departments. Ministry of water and power sources told human resource department has been stopped from making new appointments and transfers. Ministry has also sought details of direct recruitments made in PEPCO.
 Sources told that in the third phase the formal announcement for dissolution of PEPCO would be made after the last meeting of board.
