Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday formed a probe commission to determine the elements responsible of adopting delaying tactics in power projects.
An SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing a case regarding Rental Power Policy.
The commission, headed by justice retired Rehmat Hussain Jafri would probe into the power projects of Nandipur and Cheechun Ki Malyan and would produce its reports within four weeks.
During the hearing the CJ annoyed over the government for its reluctance to implement the apex court orders.
“The people who should be investigated are appointed secretaries”, he said and added upright offices are transferred to Giligit Baltistan.
The CJ remarked that there was no institution in the country for accountability while the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was not willing to work. “We have no confidence in the FIA”, he said.
