Islamabad: The results of a survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan has revealed that 53% of Pakistanis were in favour of street protest against prolonged loadshedding while 43% voted against the protest.
In a survey a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked the following question: “Recently, there were protest against loadshedding in different areas of country during which there was many losses, some people support such actions while some are against it, what do you think about this?” Responding to this 53% of respondents favored the protests whereas 43% were against it. However 4% did not give a view.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2691 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 09 – October 15, 2011. Error margin is estimated to be approximately + 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
