London: Former captain Pakistan cricket team Salman Butt’s lawyer Ali Bajwa said that Salman Butt was not aware of relations between Mazhar Majeed, an agent and fast bowler Mohammad Amir.
In a statement recorded before before London’s Southwark crown court on Tuesday, Bajwa said that Majeed directly contacted to Amir for spot-fixing.
There was no relation between Butt and Majeed regarding the fixing scandal, he just exaggerated his relations with my client, Bajwa added.
He said that ICC probe had accepted bets were placed 20 seconds before ball and it was amazing that how Butt was involved in the bet.
He further said that Butt did not have any special influence on Amir. Whereas Majeed never took Butt into confidence over no-ball.
Previous record shows that amir and majeed were in regular contact. It is right that Amir is still young but enough mature to settle all his matters, Bajwa added.
He revealed that Amir had contact with a bookie in Pakistan also.
