Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to give compensation to the families of thoseĀ who fell prey to gory incidents of targeted killing that ruled Karachi during July-August, sources said on Thursday.
The sources said that the Sindh home department had sent a summary to Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in this regard.
They said that a commission would be formed to compensate the victim families. The sources added the home department had suggested Rs500,000 to each family.
At least 306 people were killed during the short span of a month in different parts of the metropolis that led to a suo motu action by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The large scale killings of citizens are largely attributed to differences of political parties.
