Karachi: At least four people have been killed and another one injured in a shooting incident in Karachi on late Tuesday, police and rescue sources said, The News Tribe reported.
The incident took place near Siddique-e-Akbar mosque in Msulim Town area of Nagan Chowrangi. The area was stated to be the stronghold of banned Sipae Sahaba Pakistan.
According to the police sources unidentified armed assailant riding bikes opened indiscriminate fire at a cloth shop in Nagan Chowrangi area of Karachi. The accused managed to escape after the incident by taking the advantage of darkness.
The victims were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Rescues sources said that four people have confirmed killed, but police has not confirmed the casualties yet.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Raza, Arif, Sohail and Hasan.
The injured was also said to be in critical condition.
Doctors at the hospital said the injured received bullet wounds in heads and chests. They said they were trying to save the life of the injured.
Relatives of the victims started agitation in the hospital. All kind of business in the area has also been closed.
The police have cordoned off the area and started search operation to arrest the accused.
But, eyewitness said that police reached the spot thirty minutes late.
