Karachi: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday restored a petition against May, 12 carnage. The applicant filed an application, seeking to restore his petition against the May 12 incident which he was forced by some elements to withdraw.
He prayed that he was kept in jail and was threatened that his wife would be kidnapped if didn’t withdraw the petition.
A division bench of the SHC was hearing the application. The bench restored the petition and adjourned the hearing for indefinite period. “You will be heard during next hearing”, the bench told the applicant.
Advocate General Sindh Abdul Fateh Malik said that the petition into the incident was a private petition and was disposed of by a five-member bench of the court.
The petition was disposed of by a PCO judge as former military ruler Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency on November, 3, 2007.
More than 60 people were gunned down and several others injured on May 12, 2007.
