Islamabad: Former law minister and Pakistan People’s Party leader Babar Awan has said that Senate election would be held on time even if Punjab Assembly was dissolved.
He said on Monday that N-League plan of sabotaging Senate election would not be let succeeded as holding election was a constitutional obligation that could not be averted.
The PPP leader said that the election would be held within 10 days if the assembly was dissolved.
On Sunday, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain during his speech urged President Asif Ali Zardari to hold by elections in Punjab if the assembly was dissolved. He added that the MQM would contest election in all the constituencies of Punjab.
