Rawalpindi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday dismissed acquittal plea of former Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Town Khurram Shehzad and ex-City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Saud Aziz in Benazir assassination case.
Sources said that both the accused were likely to be indicted on next hearing.
The ATC had reserved its judgement till October 15 on an application filed by the former police officers accused of hosing down the crime scene and destroying evidences in Liaquat Bagh where the former prime minister was assassinated in a shooting and suicide attack on December 27,2007.
The accused filed through their counsel Nayab Gardezi that they were not named in this case directly or indirectly and involving them later in the case was based on ill intent.
