Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hanif Abbasi has said that the Punjab government was giving top priority to the education sector.
He said thisĀ after inaugurating the newly constructed auditorium in Govt. Viqarunnisa Girls College, which has been completed at a cost of about Rs30.5 million.
He said that under the educational reforms programme of the chief minister, a record amount of funds had been allocated for the improvementĀ of educational facilities in the province.
The government has provided more than Rs820 million for the provision ofĀ facilities in educational institutions. He further said that concrete steps had been taken for improving the educational standard.Ā New blocks had been built in schools and colleges and furniture had been provided, he said.
Abbasi claimed that the number of class rooms in schools and colleges had been increased.
He said that all additional blocks, halls and auditoriums built in various schools and colleges had been named after national heroes and martyrs.
The auditorium constructed in Govt. Viqarunnisa College has beenĀ named after Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan.
