Islamabad: Supreme Court of Paksitan has rejected petition demanding Army deployment and imposition of state of emergency in Karachi.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, while reading the verdict on Karachi target killing suo motu case said it is a responsibility of government whether they call army or not for bringing peace in Karachi.
The chief justice said that the court was not giving any ruling for calling army in Karachi because it was responsibility of the provincial government.
He further said that the judiciary was pro-democratic,adding that  in all democratic countries it was incumbent upon the government to control law and order situation.
