Lahore: A security guard of a private bank in Lahore held hostage all the staff for two hours here on Monday.
According to media reports, the security guard of the bank located at Kot Abdul Malik area armed with a shotgun opened fire on the hostages but the staff luckily escaped uncharted.
Heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot after being informed by the bank manager. Â On police arrival the guard locked himself in the toilet and resorted to firing on the police men, trying to arrest him.
Police used teargas in response to the firing and after hectic efforts of at least two hours they succeeded in arresting the armed guard.
Local people told The News Tribe that the guard was mentally ill and was screaming during the episode that police had killed his brother and would also kill him.
