Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has expressed concerned over the conditional release of Lyari-based former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Zafar Baloch within hours after his arrest by Sindh Rangers.
The MQM’s Coordination Committee said Baloch is involved in killing of dozens of muhajirs (Urdu speaking people) and his release has cast doubts at rangers’ operation.
The report was quoted the statement which was jointly issued by Muhammad Anwar, Tariq Mir, Salim Shehzad and other members of the coordination committee.
It said that Dozens of mohajirs were butchered at Lyari-based torture cells under the direct supervision of Zafar Baloch after getting them kidnapped in the last month of Ramadan.
It further alleged that Baloch was killing muhajirs at the behest of Zulfiqar Mirza. He is still being patronized by Mirza, the statement added. The Rabita Committee has appealed to Supreme Court to take notice of Baloch’s release and act accordingly.
