Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army continued with relief and rescue operation in flood affected parts of Sindh. According to a statement issued here today, as many as 2000 Army Jawans,2 MI 17 Helicopters,100 Motorized Boats, heavy vehicles and machinery, are employed in relief and rescue operation.
The statement noted that theĀ army had established Army Relief Camps and Medical Camps at Sanghar, Mir Pur Khas,,Umer Kot and Badin. It added that so far, 60,000 persons have been rescued and 900 tons of ration has also been distributed among affectees through helicopters and by road.
The statement said that to provide safe drinking water in flood affected areas 10 water filtration plants have also been established. Meanwhile Army Doctors treated more than 45,000 patients in medical camps and Mobile Medical Units in all flood affected districts.
The statement further noted that Pakistan Army will keep doing its best to help their distress brethren in flood affected areas of Sindh utilizing all available resources at its disposal.
