Karachi: Nine target killers have admitted to have killed two soldiers among 240 people since 1990 in Karachi, the largest financial business hub, port city and the southern province of Pakistan, police said.
SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam also claimed to have arrested alleged seven target killers Sindh who had admitted the killings of 78 people.
SSP CID said the target killers belong to Sindh based political party.
Meanwhile, according to initial investigation report of Karachi police, a target killer, Sohail Ahmed alias Kala Munna who belongs to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) confessed that he had killed 137 people including two soldiers since 1990.
Munna said that he killed the people on the instructions of the party’s sector and unit incharges in which MQM (H) workers were also included.
It is important to mention here that Sohail Ahmed alias Kala Munna was also arrested earlier but released over National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
Another target killer, according to police initial investigation report, Naeem Zada who belongs to Awami National Party (ANP) stated in his statement before police that he had killed 25 people.
Zada revealed that he had killed 21 people after identifying them of particular language speaking in five buses at various points during the riots occurred in Kati Pehari and Binaras.
Zada confessed that he got the orders for killing from party’s regional office.
Police sources did not identify the name and investigation details about third target killer.
