Kabul: An international NGO has accused the Afghan officials financed by the United States of killings and rapes. Human Rights Watch, an America-based group, said the local police funded by the US were involved in killings, torture and rapes in many provinces including Herat. The report says that these revelations create concern as to what is going to happen when the foreign forces leave the country because bad governance, corruption, human rights violations and lack of action against these crimes have helped extremists attract people.
A NATO spokesman has said these charges will be probed in cooperation with the Afghan government.
