Islamabad: Muttahida Qaumi Movement MNA Wasim Akhtar criticised Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday for keeping quiet when Urdu-speaking people were getting killed in Karachi and speaking up now against MQM chief. “Why did he keep quiet when Urdu-speaking people were getting killed and why he has now spoken up when Altaf Bhai addressed a press conference,” he said while talking to reporters.
He said Nisar was looking at things in a biased manner.
Meanwhile, Khwaja Izharul Hassan of MQM claimed that MQM had been facing state operation for the last 27 years.
He failed to explain if these 27 years did not include the years spent by MQM in power.
It is pertinent to mention here that MQM joined the government in 1988, 1990, 1997, 2002 and 2008. While it left the coalition governments in 1988, 1990 and 1997, it remained in power continuously from 2002 to 2007.
MQM was formed in 1984 and is now exactly 27-year-old.
