Islamabad: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan called on US Consul General in Karachi Stephen G Fakan and asked for help to continue reconciliation policy in the province between the MQM and PPP, revealed US whistle-blower WikiLeaks.
According to the US diplomatic cable leaked by WikiLeaks, the US Consul General stated that Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s governor called on him in 2010 and asked for help to cool down the political tension between the two parties.
The US diplomat said both the MQM and PPP cannot be friends of each other despite their all media shows. He said in Karachi and Hyderabad, MQM is taking advantage of its political power.
Stephen G Fakan further stated that that former nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal was unhappy over losing his power and also showed irritation.
The report also disclosed that MQM and PPP will be on the same table for discussion despite tense ties between the parties after Dr Zulfiqar Mirza’s provocative statements.
WikiLeaks also revealed that PPP would never hold local government election in Karachi ignoring the law and order situation in the city.
