Abbottabad: Police on Tuesday arrested two foreigners from Bilal Town, Abbottabad, the area where al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed in a US raid on May 2, 2011.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad, the foreigners, a man and woman, were arrested near the compound of al-Qaeda chief Osama Laden in the jurisdiction of Nawa Shehar Police Station. He said the foreigners are Danish citizens and were arrested while trying to approach the compound.
The DPO said that police was scrutinizing their travel documents. Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that the man arrested by police is a diplomat and the women is his girl friend. But these reports could not be confirmed yet through independent sources. Police said that they recovered laptop and cameras from the possession of the foreigners. Sources said that the foreigners were shifted to some undisclosed location for investigation.
