Peshawar: As usual Eid will be celebrated in Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa (KPK) Province of Pakistan as unofficial moon sighting committee of Masjid Qaim Ali Khan has said that they have received some 18 witnesses from different areas of the province.
The moon sighting committee presided over by Mufti Shahabuddin Populzai along with 20 Ulemas of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan of Peshawar. Mufti Populzai after viewing the witnesses announced to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Tuesday.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Malakund and Waziristan areas. No government official participated in the meeting headed by Mufti Populzai.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan’s northwest province celebrates two Eids every year. One with Masjid Qasim Ali Khan and the second with government of Pakistan.
