Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Fehmida Mirza has constituted a 17-member parliamentary committee over the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi and Balochistan.
The committee would investigate the matter of law and order situation in both places and would submit its reply before Parliament in two months.
The parliamentary committee consists of five members from Pakistan Peoples Party, four from Pakistan Muslim League-N, three from Muslim League-Q, two from MQM while one parliamentary member for JUI, ANP and Functional League each.
MNAs from PPP members in the committee are, Syed Khursheed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Abdul Qadir Patel, Ayatullah Durrani and Noor Alam, whereas parliamentarians from Muslim League N are Khuwaja Asif, Zahid Hamid, Rana Tanveer and Sardar Mehtab are included.
Parliamentarians from Muslim League-Q for the committee are Ghaus Baksh Mehr, Riaz Peerzada and Zubaida Jalal, while Haider Abbas Rizvi and Sohail Mansur were chosen for MQM representation.
Molana Fazlur Rehman from JUI, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour from ANP and Khuda Baksh Rajer was included in the committee.
