Karachi: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the federation and the provincial government.
According to details, the court issued notices to both the governments, Inspector General Police, Sindh, and provincial interior minister on a petition filled by Lawyer Faiz Ahsan, seeking army deployment in Karachi.
Faiz Ahsan, in his petition, prayed to the court that army should be deployed in the city, home to 18 million people, to maintain law and order.
He stated that the people of Karachi were not satisfied with the performance of police and Rangers as they have failed to peace.
It is to mention here that more than 100 people have been killed during the last seven days of violence as spate of target killings still rules the major port city.
There have been demands from the cross section of society for army deployment in the metropolis.
