Karachi: One of the close aides of Baitullah Mehsud, Fazal Mehsud, has been released on bail hours after his arrest from Karachi.
Central Investigation Department (CID) in a hand out released on Tuesday declared the accused close associate of Taliban Commander Baitullah Mehsud who gave assistance to him when he got injuries in a raid. The CID police also reported in the press release that the accused provided financial assistance to Taliban from Karachi.
The interesting fact in the press release was that only single case of possessing illegal weapon was registered against Fazal Mehsud.
When the accused was presented before the court of Afzal Roshan, Judicial Magistrate West, not a single proof could be provided against him accept keeping illegal weapon. Then the judicial magistrate released Fazal on bail.
The press release informed that Fazal Mehsud was arrested from Mariour on Monday but sources said that the accused was arrested from Keamari three days ago.
