Islamabad: The electricity shortfall in the country Tuesday slightly reduced to 3,149 MW from 3,896 MW as the total power generation was recorded as 14,336 MW against the demand of 17,485 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to PEPCO brief on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 5,861 MW,WAPDA thermal 2,135 MW, IPPs 6,203 MW and Rental 131 MW. As many as 700 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company, the report further said.
Experts said water level rise in major dams, cool weather due to rains in most areas of Punjab, KP and Azad Kashmir was reason of reduction in short fall.
