Muzaffarabad: Sardar Yaqoob of the Pakistan Peopls Party was elected president of Azad Jammu Kashmir here on Friday.
The Polling was held in the AJK Legislative assembly where Yaqoob become 10th president of the AJK after getting 40 votes.Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for the presidential election got 11 votes.
Talking to media Yaqoob said he thanked Allah for granting him the presidency. He said that his selection was the proof of the fact that the Pakistan People’s Party was popular amongst all the people of Pakistan and the AJK.
