Islamabad: Though Karachi continued to bleed on Friday as 10 more people were gunned down in different parts of the metropolis, home to at least 20 million people and commercial hub of the nuclear armed nation, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani assured the National Assembly that peace would be restored in the city, adding that any effort to destabilize the city would not be tolerated.
Speaking in the National Assembly the prime minister said he condemned the killing of people in Karachi and would restore the peace at any cost as the city was important for economic and political stability in the country.
He sought assistance of all the political parties to bring peace in Karachi.He also urged the lawmakers to make sure their presence in assembly while discussion on Karachi situation being held.
Meanwhile, The Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) staged walk out from the house in protest against worsening law and order in Karachi.
