Mardan: Vice-Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, Wednesday said that there were 10,000 sites of Gandhara civilization in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and from 2003 till now we discovered 3,830 sites.
Dr. Ihsan Ali said that several sites of Gandhara civilization were present in Mardan district and the district is rich in this connection. While there are sites of approximately 632 religious schools of Buddhist in Mardan.
He further said that in the last three years we arranged and gave documental shape to all the museums of KP and computerized it. He added that fake antiques are smuggled to foreign countries. He said that his team in his supervision tries his best to discover the other sites of Gandhara art in KP.
