Degrees of 57 lawyers found fake

Islamabad: Degrees of some 57 lawyers including a barrister have been found fake.

The record of the fake degrees has been presented in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Two-member SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the case where ex-president Rawalpindi Bar Malik Waheed Anjum presented the record.

A case was filed against 57 lawyers including ex-joint secretary of the bar Shahbaz Ahmed Rajpoot. Waheed informed the court the cases were not filed against those who agreed not to remain in the profession.

The apex court has sought the record of the degree of Shahbaz Rajpoots from the university. The hearing was adjourned till July 29.
