Islamabad: The hearing of financial scam at the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) will be held today (Monday) at Supreme Court of Pakistan by following the SC’s so motto notice.
During hearing of the NICL case, the report would be presented by the government in front of the 2-members SC bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Ghulam Rabbani regarding the restoration of the position of chief investigator of the NICL scam Zafar Qureshi.
On the other hand, the SC had given a last chance to the government and directed to cancel the suspension orders of Zafar Qureshi, otherwise, the court has full rights to use Article 90 of the constitution of Pakistan to implement its verdict.
Besides, the government is continuously refuting to follow the verdict of the apex Court.
It is worth mentioning here that if government remains fail to submit satisfactory report in front of the court, then the court can constitute an Inquiry Commission comprising Lahore High Court judge, who will explore the hidden political agendas and factors regarding the suspension of Zafar Qureshi.
Whereas, in Monday’s hearing Attorney General, Acting Director General FIA and others will present in front of the court. While the Establishment Division would also brief the 2-members bench of SC regarding the report of absconder DG FIA.
