Karachi: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday directed the government to allow the family to meet Saulat Mirza, a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.A division bench of the SHC was hearing application filed by Mr Mirza’s family against his transfer from Central Jail to Hyderabad Jail.
The application stated that Mirza was suffering from several diseases and family was not been allowed to meet him.
The bench ruled that transfer of a prisoner to another jail at the time when his mercy petition against death penalty was pending before the president is violation of law.
Saulat Mirza was handed down death sentence by a local court while the Supreme Court has also confirmed his penalty.
