Karachi: At least six more people including four in Lyari Town were gunned down as two armed political groups combated each other after two days calm in Orangi Town in Pakistan’s financial hub of Karachi.
Peace had not returned with full swing in Orangi Town and other affected areas of Karachi that two political groups affiliated with Karachi’s main parties, started battle in Lyari.
Both the groups used heavy weapons, paralysing life and forced people to stay indoors. During the armed clash police were invisible.
Business remained inert in Lyari and surrounding areas as fear and panic erupted in the area.
Traffic disappeared from the roads soon after the clash and public suffering massive.
Most affected areas of Lyari were Ranchore Line, Pak colony, Khada Market.
Sources said that one of the arms group captured at least nine political offices of its opposite group.
It is pertinent to mention here that more than 100 people were killed in different parts of Karachi, majority of them were gunned down in Orangi, Qasba Colony and Kati Pahari areas with four days of ethnic violence between two main political groups of Karachi.
