Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Chaudhary Ahmed Mukhtrar has warned United States that Pakistan would remove its military from troubled Pak-Afghan border if Washington suspended its military aid of US$ 800 million.
Talking to a private Pakistani channel (Express News), Pakistan’s Defence Minister said that Pakistan has already spent the suspended amount in war against terror.
The minister said that Pakistan has sent America the expenditure list and was waiting for the amount.
Chaudhary Mukhtar said Pakistan allowed US to use its Shamsi Airbase just for intelligence work, not for carrying out drone strikes inside Pakistan.
Earlier, US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that Pakistan military aid was being suspended because Islamabad stopped US trainers from working in Pakistan. But, Pakistan’s civilian aid would be continued, she added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s military spokesman Athar Abbas said that time period American trainers had been completed that’s why they were ordered to leave Pakistan.
