Karachi: The Awami National Party (ANP) has assured the government of full support in its drive to restore peace in Karachi. President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed hope that the need for deployment of army in Karachi will not arise.
The ANP spokesman Zahid khan told a news channel that the President took the ANP delegation into confidence over the commissionerate system and the current situation in Karachi.
The ANP spokesman further said that the ANP supported the demand for deployment of army in Karachi, although the president expressed hope that peace would be restored in Karachi without the need for deploying army.
Zardari also accepted the ANP’s reservation over the KESC issue and assured them of steps to resolve the issue.
