Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relation has lashed out the spate of allegations by American media against the Pak Army, said a press statement.
Major General Athar Abbas, Director General ISPR, rejected the baseless reports appearing in the US media against the Pak Army and the ISI. Referring the reports of New York Times, he termed these reports baseless and misleading.
The DG ISPR said that in most cases such news reports had quoted anonymous US sources, bringing the veracity of their reporting into question.
He said that in 2004, US media had to apologise about some of its wrong coverage of the Iraq war. “If the newspaper continues with its vilifying campaign without any concrete evidence, it may end up expressing deep regret the way it did for Iraq coverage,” he added.
