Islamabad: Pakistan’s Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan has said recent statement given by US Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee about killing of journalist Salim Shahzad and its interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan is highly irresponsible and deplorable adding such steps will dent bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and US in war against terrorism.
Information minister said this while talking to media men here Friday in PEMRA headquarters.
She said Karachi was economic hub of Pakistan and Law and order situation therein was being sabotaged through terror acts.
Action would be taken indiscriminately against all the elements found involved in disrupting peace in Karachi , she warned.
She maintained that doors to dialogue with MQM were not shut down adding “we will not allow deadlock to come on the way of talks with MQM because crisis surface up where deadlock intervenes. Dialogue is beauty of democracy and problems are resolved only through talks process, she underlined.
She held that PEMRA played the role of bridge between state run media and private media. It will ensure implementation of its laws within the parameters of law and constitution, she added.
