Islamabad: Amnesty International has expressed concerns over shoot-at-sight orders given by the government in the wake of unabated targeted killing in Karachi that claimed lives of more than 90 people.
In a statement issued on Friday the Amnesty International said shoot-at-sight orders were tantamount to give law enforcement agencies license to kill.
Expressing grave concern over the increasing violence in the metropolis the international organization said that the government had declared the city as war torn area.
The statement noted that the orders may led to increase in death toll. It urged the government that supremacy of law be ensured in the city as it was mandatory to bring peace.
