Hong Kong: The International Cricket Control (ICC) has decided to ban governments from making political appointments in it member boards, said a statement issued here on Wednesday.
ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said that the ICC’s decision was aimed at purging the cricket from political influence.
The decision was taken during the ICC meeting held in Hong Kong. ICC President Sahrad Pawar said ‘difficult decisions’ were taken for the betterment of cricket.
He added that the ICC was prepared to face challenges.
