Kabul: Two British soldiers were killed in southwestern Afghanistan, where 329 Britons have lost their lives during US-led military campaign, officials say.
British Defense Ministry said that the two soldiers, one from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and the other from the Parachute Regiment were killed in Helmand province on Thursday.
According to the ministry, the former lost his life during an operation to hunt a militant while the latter was shot dead by a small firearm. The ministry has yet to reveal the names of the dead.
The latest mortalities have climbed to 329 the number of British soldiers and civilian British staff killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country back in 2001.
