Karachi: The Awami National Party (ANP), a coalition partner of the PPP-led government at the centre and in Sindh, on Friday boycotted the session of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in protest over a host of issues while the MQM protested over lodging of an FIR against their sitting MPA.
ANP’s legislator, Amanullah Mehsud, and minister for labour, Amir Nawab, boycotted the session after delivering speeches, according to Qadir Khan Spokesman Awami National Party (Sindh).
Mehsud said an ANP activist was being targeted in the metropolis almost everyday, but no action was being taken to arrest the culprits involved. Instead, alleged fake FIRs were being lodged against their party workers and their offices were being raided by the law-enforcement agencies in different parts of the metropolis, he said.
He accused the PPP-led provincial government of bias against them in the development work in the Pashtun-dominated areas of the city and recruitments in different government departments.
He said that they would continue their boycott until their reservations were not addressed.
