Karachi: Advisor to Prime Minister on Human Rights, Mustafa Nawaz Khohkar, who arrived in the city here on Thursday along with Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi, has refused Ranger’s security and its escort during his stay in Karachi, as a mark of indignation over the brutal extrajudicial killing of a youth by a personal of the paramilitary force in broad daylight.
Khohkar along with Faisal Karim Kundi arrived here in city to condole with the family of Sarfaraz Shah, the youth who was brutally murdered by Rangers dubbing him as dacoit. After arrival in he city, he refused to take Ranger’s escort along him for security, as a mark of resentment over the brutal act of the paramilitary force.
It is interesting to note here that on Thursday the Prime Minister had rubbished opposition members’ criticism of the Rangers for the brutal killing of an unarmed youth, while responding the point of order of MNA Khawja Saad Rafiq. The prime minister had said that national institution should not be ‘abused’ on pretext of a single incident. However, on the other hand, his own advisor refused Ranger’s security, expressing his distrust over the paramilitary force.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari took notice of the incident and sought immediate report of the incident. Presidential Spokesman said the president had expressed grief and sorrow over the incident and said the incident would be probed thoroughly.
