Quetta: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has claimed that only 38 people were missing in Balochistan.
Talking to media at airport he termed the report, claiming 6000 people were missing in the province, as base less and added that numbers of missing people have been exaggerated. “only 38 people were missing and law enforcement agencies were trying to recover them” Malik said.
He said that the government was focused on resolving all the issues through talks, adding that the situation in the province was improving.
The minister said he had invited the Baloch people to return from the mountains and some of them have made come back and others would also do so.
He added that 17th amendment to the Constitution was in the interest of the provinces and it would also benefit Balochistan.
Malik while replying a query about the Kharotabad incident said “I do not comment on the issue as the matter was sud-judice” , adding that judicial tribunal was probing the matter and we should wait for its decision.
There was no existence of Quetta Shura, Malik said on being asked whether there was existence of Afghan Taliban’s Shura as the western media have been reporting.
