Islamabad: Parliamentary leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (JUI-F) in the Senate Maulana Ghafoor Hayderi has said that opposition parties in parliament had reached consensus to evolve joint strategy to get the unanimous resolution of the parliament on Abbottabad implemented.
Talking to The News Tribe, Hayderi said that last Monday an informal joint meeting of all opposition parties present in the parliament was held in the chamber of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisal Ali Khan on his invitation.
He said that the meeting’s great emphasis was that the opposition parties should take joint stand and press the government to implement the unanimous resolution. He said it was agreed that besides the constitution of independent commission regarding the Abbottabad incident, the government would be pressed to implement other clauses of the resolution including suspension of supplies to Nato forces in Afghanistan if the US continues the drone attacks.
He said that during the meeting the JUI underlined the need of evolving a joint strategy and unified stand and mount pressure on the government not only inside the parliament but on the streets too.
To a question he blamed US for being involved in Mehran base’s attack, saying that agents of Black Water and CIA were operating in the country with impunity.
