Islamabad: Justice retired Fakhruddin G Ibraheem refused to be part of six-member independent commission announced by the government to investigate the US operation in Abbottabad that led to killing of al-Qaeda Chief Osma bin Laden last month, sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said that he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani wherein expressed and inability to be part of the commission. They said that he had some reservation over the composition of the commission, adding that he was even not informed by the government before inclusion of his name in the commission. The prime minister on Tuesday constituted the commission headed by Supreme Court Judge Justice Javed Iqbal, comprising justice (Retd) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim, Lieutenant General (Retd) Nadeem Ahmed, former diplomat Ashraf Jahangir, former Inspector General (IG) Police Abbas Khan and federal secretary cabinet division Nargis Sethi.
Senior Journalist Hamid Meer said that two others members of the commission also have reservations over the commission.
