Quetta: The judicial tribunal formed to ascertain the facts and causes of the Kharotabad incident has started recording statements of the witnesses on Tuesday and five witnesses deposed before the tribunal.
A local photo journalist, Jamal Tarakey, while deposing before the tribunal revealed that when he reached the spot, FC and police officials were firing on the foreigners and a woman was crying for help. He said that FC commandant Col. Faisal and CCPO Quetta Dawood Junejo were also present on the spot.
The tribunal was formed on May 25and as many as 18 people have registered their names with the tribunal to appear before it as witness to the gory incident, wherein the FC and police personnel cold-bloodedly murdered unarmed civilians. The tribunal is being headed by Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar, Judge of Balochistan High Court (BHC).
Five Chechen were killed on May 17, at the FC’s checkpost in Kharotabad area. The police and the FC opened indiscriminate fire, targeting the five people after labeling them suicide bombers.
