Peshawar: A top Taliban commander along with 11 others militants, was killed when Pakistan Air Force pounded militant’s hideouts in Orakzai Tribal area in northwest Pakistan, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that the Air Force attacked the insurgents’ hideouts when their meeting was under way in the area. They said that the Taliban commander Tariq Afridi was chairing the meeting and was killed along with others.
Tariq Afridi was among the key commanders in Taliban ranks and was allegedly involved in launching suicide attacks in the country. Besides he was also said to be involved in the killing of a Polish engineer.
